Nancy Donaldson Gauss

Her team reports and produces video stories, develops new series, coordinates large-scale projects across the newsroom and creates innovative applications of video, including VR, throughout our report.

In addition to her work at The New York Times, she has been a supervising producer at CNN for both digital and long form television work and a senior multimedia journalist at The Washington Post. She has served as an educator for international and national journalism conferences and has taught regularly at The International Center for Photography.

Her work has received distinction from The News and Documentary Emmy Awards, the duPont Awards, World Press Photo, the Peabody Awards, the Online News Association, the Scripps Howard Foundation, Pictures of the Year International and the National Press Photographers Association.

She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
