Ng Swan Ti began her career as a photojournalist after working as an employee at a food company for ten years. In 2002, she took part in a photography workshop held by the World Press Photo Foundation and “i see” (Imaging Center) in Jakarta. The following year, she participated in a photography forum held by Asia-Europe Foundation and World Press Photo in Amsterdam.
Swan Ti’s photographs have appeared in many domestic and international publications. Her works on self-religious exploration and identity were exhibited in Noorderlicht Photo Festival (2006), Jakarta Biennale (2015), and DongGang International Photo Festival (2016).
Along with other photography practitioners, she was a member of the Joop Swart Masterclass selection committee in 2016. Nowadays, she has divided her time between taking photographs and initiating various educational photography activities through PannaFoto Institute.
Based in Jakarta, Swan Ti has published her first photo book Illusion in 2014. She believes that photography gives a reason to knock on closed doors and to become part of what is happening inside.
