Vincent Alabiso is president of the Visual Journalism Alliance, a research and consulting firm that assists media organizations in expanding the market potential of their content.
Previously, he directed the worldwide photo operation of The Associated Press (AP) as vice president and executive photo editor. Under his leadership, AP was honored with nine Pulitzer Prizes in photography and was recognized annually in major competitions such as World Press Photo. He was also vice president and director of global business development/photos for AP and oversaw the marketing and sales of AP photos.
He has served as chairman of the board of The Alexia Foundation, which offers grants to professional and student photographers and is currently on the board of the Great Lakes Media Institute, an organization that promotes journalism education across all media in developing regions such as Rwanda. He has also been a member of the board of the Eddie Adams Workshop and tutored World Press Photo seminars in Peru and India.
