Rodrigo Miguel Abd (b. 1976) was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His career began as a staff photographer at La Razón and La Nación newspapers in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 1999 to 2003. 

Since 2003, he has been a staff photographer for the Associated Press based in Guatemala, except for 2006 when he was stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan. Abd has worked on several major AP special assignments, including the political turmoil in Bolivia in 2003 and Haiti in 2004. He also covered Venezuela’s elections in 2007 and 2012, and the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. In 2010, he was embedded with US troops twice in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, and in 2011 reported on the political conflict in Libya. The following year, he covered the Syrian armed conflict. From 2013 to 2020, he was based in Lima, Peru.

Along with fellow AP photographers, Abd was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography in both 2013 and 2023 for his powerful coverage of the Syrian civil war and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

He is currently based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
