Nathan Tsui

Nathan Tsui (b.1988) is a photography writer and photographer based in Hong Kong. He currently works on the photo desk at the South China Morning Post, where he edits and selects images for news stories.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Communications at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA, he returned to his home country in 2012 to pursue a career in media. In the last decade, he has worked for the Photo Magazine, HK01, and the South China Morning Post. As a photojournalist he focused on social and political issues, documenting major social unrest in Hong Kong before and after the Umbrella Movement in 2014 for the online media publication United Social Press

In his free time, he interviews photographers and writes articles on photojournalism and documentary photography, contributing to various Chinese-language media outlets, including Initium Media in Singapore, The Reporter in Taiwan, Yahoo! News in Hong Kong, Stand News, and others. 

Nathan was on the jury for POY Asia 2023. You can find his works and articles in various publications including The New York Times, Ming Pao, Stand News and Apple Daily.
