Lt. Col. Robert Stirm, is greeted by his family, returning home after more than five years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam. Stirm landed on Travis Air Force Base in California after he left Vietnam on an American strategic airlift aircraft nicknamed the Hanoi Taxi. Robert Stirm was shot down over Hanoi on 27 October 1967 while leading a flight of F-105 on a bombing mission. He was not released until 14 March 1973.
