Wheels fly as racing cars collide in a spectacular pileup at the start of the 1966, 500 mile Memorial Day Race at the Indianapolis, Indiana, Speedway. More than half of the 33 cars entered in the race were damaged and forced out of the running. Many were totally demolished, but all drivers escaped serious injury.
