A giant leatherback turtle.

January 01, 1994

The breeding process of the giant leatherback turtle: In June, at the peak of the season, up to 600 of the two-meter-long female turtles drag themselves onto the beach every night. First they spend a half hour systematically cleaning the spot chosen to lay some 100 eggs.
