Private Eric Ayon of Echo Company of the Second Battalion, Fourth Regiment of the US Marines, stares through the bullet-riddled windshield of an ambushed Humvee. During its tour of Iraq, Echo Company suffered the worst casualties of any US company since Vietnam.
