People displaced by the civil war living in a camp. The debilitating war between the governing MPLA and the Unita resistance movement has gone on for nearly three decades, with just a short period of peace in the mid 1990s. Although Angola is potentially extremely wealthy, with top-quality diamond deposits and massive oil reserves, 80 percent of its 12 million inhabitants now live below the poverty line. Aid organizations are struggling to meet demands. Ironically, this camp occupies an old army barracks.
