The musical comedian Victor Borge was born in Copenhagen in 1909, trained as a classical pianist, but by the 1930s was already blending humor with his music. In the 1940s he left Denmark for the US, becoming an American citizen in 1948. Though at first he could speak little English, he soon learned the language and adapted his unique comic routine for a wider audience. Worldwide popularity followed. Here Borge himself recovers from a fit of laughter at his home.
