Children play in the suburbs of Gorazde, a city encircled by Serb military forces for three years. In the Bosnian civil war of 1992-1995, Gorazde was the last remaining United Nations safe area in eastern Bosnia, yet it was repeatedly attacked. Since then, the photographer has observed the war's impact on his family, and others who came to the city for safety.
