A bomb explodes next to former Pakistan Prime minister Benazir Bhutto's vehicle during an attack on her motor convoy after an election rally. Bhutto was killed in the attack and at least 20 other people died in the blast. Supporters claimed that government security provisions for the opposition leader, who had recently returned from exile, had been inadequate.
