Shoan and Jim lived together in Hungry Horse, but Shoan later moved out to Browning, an Indian reservation some miles away. Jim works for his brother's construction company. Hungry Horse, in the Rocky Mountains, Montana, USA, was a thriving settlement of construction workers for a nearby dam in the 1950s. Today, it has just 900 residents, struggling with unemployment. Many younger people join the army or head to the city in search of better prospects.
