Roger Barrus plays hockey with his son every day after school, on a homemade ice rink in their backyard. In summer the rink can be used as a basketball court.
Brighton's Myriah Stockman celebrates after scoring her first goal to bring the score to 1-1 during a second-round game against Davis in the Utah 5A girls soccer tournament. In the second half of the match, Brighton went on to win 2-1.
Cody Williams (17) falls off his unicycle after attempting a rock jump on the Slick Rock trail during the eighth annual Mountain Unicycling Festival. The event attracted over 175 participants from across the world. Williams was not hurt.
Golden State Warrior Stephen Jackson falls out of bounds during game four of the Western Conference basketball semi-finals, against the Utah Jazz. The Jazz won the game 115-101.
Chavis Lundskog (16) bodyboards on the FlowRider, as his brothers Tanner (14, left) and Weston (12) look on. The FlowRider is an artificial sheet wave which pumps out 30,000 gallons (136,000 liters) of water every minute, giving riders a similar experience to ocean surfing.
Switzerland's Evelyne Leu competes in the women's freestyle skiing aerials World Cup competition at Deer Valley resort. Leu finished in fourth place.
Pepperdine's Jason Walberg gouges the eyes of Brigham Young University's Jonathan Tavernari during a basketball match. No foul was called. Although Tavernari missed the basket immediately after the incident, he was not injured. Later in the game he scored back-to-back three-pointers, helping his team win 86-67.
Deaflympics volunteers Ashley Booth and Jamie Hardman sign "I love you" to the US hockey team during the game against Finland at the 16th Winter Deaflympics. The USA won 4-2.
